Open to the right opportunity

Your next product launch shouldn't get stuck in compliance.

I'm Bobby Ciatti, CRCM. For 18 years — across Wells Fargo, U.S. Bank, and Ameriprise — I've helped the country's biggest banks ship faster, pass exams cleaner, and stop treating regulators like the enemy. Hire me and your roadmap stops getting "compliance'd."

The pitch

You don't need another compliance officer. You need someone who makes compliance a competitive advantage.

01

Your portfolio gets the green light — sooner.

I've cleared 40+ consumer & small business products through risk review at Wells Fargo (checking, savings, debit, cards, lines of credit). Turnkey processes mean product teams stop waiting on compliance and start shipping with it.

02

Your regulators get fewer surprises.

CFPB. OCC. Internal audit. I've supplied the artifacts and built the monitoring that made those exams successful — across two of the country's largest banks.

03

Your executives get answers, not asks.

I translate product risk and issues data into the one slide a leader actually reads. Decisions get made. Issues close. Dashboards stop collecting dust.

Proof, not promises

"The best compliance work is invisible. The product ships. The exam closes. The regulator nods. Nobody throws a parade — and that's exactly the point."

The story

Eighteen years. Three banks. One throughline.

Click any chapter to expand. (You'll notice the through-line: every role ends with a process that outlasted the project.)

    • Led qualitative compliance reviews of risk assessments across 40+ products: checking, savings, debit, cards, and lines of credit.
    • Coordinated horizontal reviewers — UDAAP, Fair Lending, Conduct, Financial Crimes — so nothing fell between the cracks.
    • Advised executive leaders on product risk and issues management with insights they could actually use.
    • Built monitoring for product and change management that closed compliance gaps and tightened controls.
    • Turned product and issue data into dashboards and exec reporting that drove decisions, not debate.
    • Drafted and maintained procedures so the program survived turnover, reorgs, and audit cycles.
    • Designed and implemented change management governance from the ground up.
    • Created and delivered compliance training for Business Aligned Compliance Teams.
    • Partnered with Audit to validate program effectiveness and support successful regulatory exams.
    • Transitioned compliance processes to Agile — and watched delivery speed up.
    • Drafted and socialized enterprise and business-line policies for complaint handling.
    • Rolled out a complaint tracking tool that finally made the data usable.
    • Built standardized, data-driven reporting — including fair-and-responsible-banking triggers.
    • Conducted compliance testing on complaint data integrity to keep reporting honest.
    • Provided artifacts for multiple successful CFPB and OCC exams.
    • Drove adoption of the complaint process across 4,000+ branch locations.
    • Reviewed field-created and corporate marketing materials against regulatory and brand standards.
    • Built and ran a tracking process inside the corporate review tool.
    • Collaborated with escalated-review teams on the touchy stuff.
    • Led the move from paper retention to digital — on schedule, on policy.
    • Scaled with the team through H&R Block Advisors and Columbia Investments acquisitions.

The questions you're already thinking

Let's just answer them now.

Saves you a phone screen. Saves me one too.

Because I built what I came to build. The program runs. The exams pass. The next chapter is somewhere I can do that again — for a team that wants compliance shaping product, not catching it at the door.

I moved my Wells Fargo program to Agile and shipped reviews on two-week cadences inside a Fortune 30. "Fast" at a megabank is a forcing function, not a fairy tale. I'll bring the discipline; you'll get the speed.

Minneapolis-based. Hybrid is ideal, fully remote works, and I'll travel for what matters — exams, launches, the room where the call gets made.

The opposite. Smaller surface area means I get closer to the product, the data, and the decision. I'd rather own the outcome than manage the headcount.

Lead or Director-level compliance inside consumer banking, lending, payments, or a regulated fintech. Anywhere a product team is tired of compliance being the bottleneck and wants someone who can fix that — quietly, permanently.

I'm not the loudest person in the room. I won't sell you on theater. If you want a compliance officer who treats the regulators like a checklist, that's not me. If you want one who treats them like a system to design around — we should talk.

Hire Bobby

If your next product launch can't afford a compliance bottleneck — let's talk.

I'm based in Minneapolis, open to hybrid or remote, and most interested in consumer banking, fintech, and regulated product teams that want compliance embedded — not bolted on.
